Aphex Twin has announced a series of listening parties for fans to hear his new album, Syro (pronounced "sigh-ro").
The events will take place around the world between September 5 and 10, starting in London and moving through cities including Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Brussels, and Utrecht, Holland, NME reports.
Fans will have a chance to gain entry to the events in a ticket lottery. Details will be announced here.
Syro is the follow-up to 2001's Drukqs and is due out September 22. Prior to the announcement, Aphex Twin's Richard James teased fans by flying a blimp bearing the Aphex Twin logo and the digits 2014 over London and marking his logo on streets of New York City.
In an interview with Pitchfork, James said that Syro is one of many album's he has been working on and that it is the "most accessible." He said the track titles are mostly references to the machines he used to make the record. The album also features unintelligible vocals from James, his kids, his wife, and his parents.
He eventually announced the album via the deep web. Check out the tracklist below.
