Victoria Monet just revealed that she will be releasing her first full-length studio album "Jaguar II," along with an accompanying tour in North America and England's London.
Several months up to the announcement of the album, Monet has been dropping singles left and right, making fans more and more excited with the prospect of seeing the singer finally drop a studio album.
"These were the three that embodied what the rest of the album would sound like," the singer told Billboard, referring to her singles "Smoke," "Party Girls," and "On My Mama."
Monet has been working on music for years, but has never released a full-length album; although she does have several EPs under her belt since 2014.
"I feel like I've been behind the bushes and in the background, and I think jaguars themselves live in that way," Monet explained why the album is called "Jaguar," and its significance in her life and career. "They find the right moment to attack - and get what they want."
Victoria Monet's New Album
"Jaguar II" is the sequel to Monet's 2020 "Jaguar," and it will be released on Aug. 25 via RCA Records.
The album will boast a tracklist of 11 songs, including the aforementioned singles; and the singer decided to scrap the trilogy concept in favor of a two-parter instead.
"It really kind of breathes new life into part one. If you're just now catching onto me as an artist, you'll know, it's because it's part two, that there was a part one, so you may revisit it," Monet explained to Apple Music's Zane Lowe.
"If people are just getting introduced to an artist, if they see a long list, a long album, they may get kind of overwhelmed, so I kind of always intended to microdose my style and my music to people in segments.
"But as I went on, I just kind of kept adding songs to those little segments. I know that there won't be a part three anymore, because obviously, didn't expect to take three years in between part one and part two, or have a child in between."
