Zayn Malik might be quiet on social media and in his career over the past few years, he's ready to break his silence in a new interview and he also opened up about his personal life, especially fatherhood.
The former One Direction member is set to appear on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast this Wednesday, and in a teaser video, the 30-year-old artist told the host that his daughter named Khai, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, "brought color back" to his life.
Malik and his supermodel ex separated in 2021. Despite being estranged with one another, the two continues to co-parent their child and the singer's main focus today is being a good example to the young lady.
"Since I've had my daughter the main thing in my life is trying to be a good example to her. That's why I'm even doing this interview," he said. (via Daily Mail UK)
In the past, the "Pillow Talk" hitmaker said he used to be anxious talking about his personal life, but he wanted his kid to look at him and say "my dad's doing this."
Zayn Malik Shares His Life as a Father
Later in the teaser clip, Malik said people have been telling him that he loves sharing dad jokes and it's okay for him.
Although he said people would look at him like he's a "weirdo," it's valid because he's a father and he's now allowed to tell those jokes.
Zayn Malik to Tackle One Direction Days in New Interview?
Elsewhere in the video, it appears that the musician will also tackle his life while he was still in One Direction with his former bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson.
Malik left the group in 2015, but his good pals continued as a four-piece band.
In the interview, the singer shared that the group had been "so overexposed" and it was one of the main reasons why he took the time away to not do any interviews with the media.
He also shared being sterotyped as the "mysterious one" even though it isn't his personality.
For those who are interested in listening to the whole episode, the "Call Her Daddy" podcast's interview with Zayn Malik will be available online on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.
