Following the tragic news that his older brother had passed away and his sister-in-law had been hurt in a car accident, Ronan Keating reportedly dropped everything to fly back to Ireland and console his family.
His 50-year-old brother named Ciaran Keating from Louisburgh was slain while traveling with his wife Annmarie to see their son Ruair play football.
The Boyzone and The One Show singer's buddy characterized the incident as a "cruel bolt from the blue" and claimed the star is "absolutely devastated" but "trying to stay strong for the sake of his family."
Father-of-three Ciaran was traveling with his wife on the N5 near Swinford, Co. Mayo, at around 3:35 p.m. at the time.
This area of the road is regarded as a "black-spot" for accidents.
When their automobile collided with another vehicle, the car salesman and his wife were traveling to watch their son Ruair, 27, play for Cork City in a League of Ireland match against Sligo Rovers.
'It's the phone call no one wants to take concerning their loved ones,' a friend of Ronan's reportedly told The Sun.

As soon as Ronan learned the terrible news, he put everything on hold. He is exerting every effort to help his sister-in-law and his nephews while trying to maintain his composure for the family's sake.
Two vehicles were involved in the fatal crash near the town of Ballymiles, which is close to both Bohola and Swinford. Anmarie, a secondary school teacher, was hospitalized at Mayo University Hospital for injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening while the driver of the other vehicle is reportedly receiving treatment for significant wounds.
A second male passenger in that car was also taken to the hospital.
One can only imagine how painful this is to Keating, and how much he'll step up as the uncle of his brother's children. He's very family-oriented.
It's understandable why Ronan has had such success because he is one of the nicest individuals in the music business. He is witty and down to earth, grateful for everything that has been given to him, but nothing will ever make him more proud than his family. With his previous wife, Yvonne, he has three elder children: Jack, 23, Missy, 21, and Ali, 17. Since 2015, Ronan has been happily married to Storm, his second wife. They have two children together: Cooper, five, and Coco, two. He claims that "family is everything."
He once shared that his evenings with the family are treasured. He said he wants to be present when the kids take a bath, read a tale, and spend time at home together. It's critical to both Storm and I.
Missy, his oldest daughter, recently immigrated to Australia. He confesses that it's still really difficult two weeks later. He added that she is sorely missed. Even if it's difficult, he revealed that he is very proud of her since she is acting morally.
Ronan, who is also close to his siblings, says he still grieves Marie's death, who passed away from breast cancer at the age of 51, 24 years ago. In her honor, he founded a charity in 2001 that raises crucial cash for cancer research. This weekend, he is hosting the charity's yearly ball in London.
