Andrew Barth Feldman is following Tony-winning actor Ben Platt in debuting his music career after making strides both in theatre and in film. Very recently, Feldman starred opposite Jennifer Lawrence in "No Hard Feelings," marking his theatrical debut.

Now, Feldman ushers in a new era for his career - his recording artist era.

Speaking to People Magazine about his upcoming new album, Feldman also confessed that he has drawn inspiration from his mental illness, specifically his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Per Feldman, one of the main themes of his album revolves around the idea of "obsession." He admitted that his OCD affects his "social anxiety, friendships and relationships - romantic relationships especially."

Evidently, his condition can be seen and heard in his music, in his songwriting, specifically.

"It's cool to have these songs that track through my own awareness of it and the different ways I've dealt with it," Feldman revealed. Apparently, his song "2AM" was written around that. "There's some real darkness to that, in my world at least. In the six years since writing that song, I've gained so much more of an awareness of it, and it's always developing."

Feldman has been writing the songs from his upcoming album since he was 14 years old. For some, they wouldn't want to unearth those songs again after all these years, but for Feldman, he's not ashamed nor embarrassed.

"Starting when I was 14, I was writing the songs on this album, and there was just nothing else to do but share them," he confessed. "It's wild and vulnerable and exciting."

Feldman recently released the music video of his new song, "Penn Station," which seemed to hold a huge meaning in his life.

"New York plays a huge role, and particularly Penn Station, which was, as the song ["The College Breakup"] describes, where we initiated our college breakup," Feldman explained, referring to his girlfriend Helen J. Shen. "But hey, we're together now and have been for two years."
