Taylor Swift has not addressed the National Snake Day tweets going around on Twitter, but then again, she probably does not have the need to anymore, after all, it is all in the past now.
However, if there's one thing the "Anti-Hero" singer's fans will always do, it is to remind the world that they bullied and shamed Swift into silence and hiding after leaks of an edited recording of Swift seemingly agreeing to Kanye West calling her a "b***h" in his song "Famous" came out.
When West's highly controversial song and music video came out, Swift has strongly maintained that she was not aware of the line, "I made that b***h famous," however, the Internet turned on her.
It began with a tweet from West's then-wife, Kim Kardashian: "Wait it's legit National Snake Day?! They have holidays for everybody, I mean, everything these days!" with a bunch of snake emojis.
The tweet came out seven years ago today, but since then, tables have turned: Swift is now back in the spotlight with her career flourishing, while West seemingly faded into oblivion after his anti-semitic remarks late last year--and on top of that, Kardashian and West are now divorced.
Taylor Swift's Reputation
After hiding from the spotlight for over a year, Swift came back and released one of her most iconic albums, "Reputation," which sported dark themes with snakes, probably a nod to Kardashian's tweet.
According to reports, Swift attempted-and succeeded-in reclaiming the narrative with the album and most especially the music video "Look What You Made Me Do."
During her "Reputation" stadium tour, Swift addressed the national holiday: "Happy National Snake Day: my favorite day of the year,
A couple of years ago, someone called me a snake on social media and it caught on. And then a lot of people called me a lot of names on social media. And I went through some really low times for a while because of it."
This year, though, the singer has not addressed National Snake Day, probably because she does not have to-she performs her hit song "Karma" every time she ends her shows.
Taylor Swift Clears Her Name
It took a while before an unedited version of Swift's conversation with West came out, but when it did, it exonerated her.
According to reports, no one is certain where the original recording even came from, but some suspect that it might have been someone from West's camp who might have held a grudge against the rapper.
