Polaris determined its future as a band after its guitarist, 26-year-old Ryan Siew, died "unexpectedly" in June.
The band confirmed Siew's death in a statement last month after the guitarist died the morning of June 19. The musician, who joined Polaris in 2013, left everyone with questions about whether the group would push through its career even after his death.
Weeks following his demise, Polaris penned a statement confirming what the members would do next without the late bandmate.
Will Polaris Disband or Retire After Ryan Siew's Death?
Polaris posted an update regarding the band's future through its official Twitter page, opening up about the members' plans after bowing out of the remaining dates of their supposed European tour to mourn Siew.
In the announcement, the band expressed its desire to release its upcoming album, "Fatalism," which ultimately became the guitarist's last album, as scheduled on Sep. 1. The members will also mark their return to the stage for their Australian and North American legs from September to October.
"This is the last set of complete songs that we wrote together with Ryan, and though the circumstances of their release are now framed by this tragedy, the meaning of the songs and the love we have for them has not changed," the band said of the album. "We are incredibly proud of this record and looking forward to sharing it with you, and now more than ever we hope that you connect with it."
As of press time, the Fatalism Australian & North American tours in Brisbane and Newcastle have already sold-out, but the band confirmed the additional international dates, which it has yet to announce.
Though Polaris decided to continue its career with Siew, the members revealed the path would not be easy for them and would rather be "different, beautiful, and bittersweet."
The band ended its statement by sharing its hopes to see the fans in the upcoming shows.
Guitarist Ryan Siew's Death
Polaris paid tribute to the band's "best friend" after Siew died on the morning of June 19. Its Instagram post, however, did not confirm his cause of death though there were speculations that his death had something to do with depression and brain fog, as reported by Sportskeeda.
Siew notably joined Polaris in 2013 after lead guitarist Rick Schneider switched from lead to rhythm guitar. Before the release of the upcoming album, he also played a huge role in the creation of Polaris' full-length albums "Mortal Coil" and "Death of Me."
