The Hollywood Vampires, a band featuring Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper, have canceled a gig for a second time in a row, citing a "unsafe" location. While they may surely have a good reason for this, one cannot help but wonder if this means Depp's music career is now in downhill.
The supergroup, which also included Aerosmith's Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen, abruptly postponed their Tuesday, July 23, concert in Budapest.
On Thursday, July 23, they were forced to cancel their performance in Slovakia, citing "incomplete" construction at the venue, Olympic Fields in Zvolenská Slatina.
The band stated that it hopes to return when schedules allow because they are genuinely distressed by this recent and unfortunate turn of events.
The band released this statement too: "This cancellation is unrelated to the recent cancellation in Budapest, but we can assure you all bandmembers are safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing you in Poland, Germany and the US in the coming days." The Hollywood Vampires ended the statement with another apology.
In the coming days, we want to see you in Poland, Germany, and the US.
The Hollywood Vampires sincerely apologized. It happens at the same time as The Hollywood Vampires had to cancel their scheduled performance at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna in Budapest on Tuesday owing to "unforeseen circumstances". The 'Edwards Scissorhands' actor reposted a statement that was posted on the band's official social media channels, which read: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Vampires will be canceling tonight's show in Budapest. All tickets (general and VIP, including meet and greet) will be refunded in full. We love and appreciate all of the fans who traveled from near and far to see us rise, and we're truly sorry. Sincere apologies, The Hollywood Vampires. (sic)"
For Johnny Depp, the past few years have been nothing short of spectacular. It all began with the defamation trial he and his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, were involved in. It was well published and perhaps wasn't always taken as seriously as it could have been, as readers are undoubtedly aware. Although the judgment found that Amber Heard had falsely accused Johnny Depp of domestic abuse, it also signaled the actor's return to the spotlight.
It was unexpected that Johnny Depp chose to make his major comeback by joining Jeff Beck on tour. But he has a much bigger impact on music than most people know. Most of Johnny Depp's admirers wanted him to finally return to acting after the protracted and arduous defamation trial between him and Amber Heard concluded.
The performer, though, chose a different course of action. He surprised everyone by appearing on stage with musician Jeff Beck only a few days after the trial was over. He ultimately embarked on a tour, and soon after, the duo declared that they would be collaborating on the album "18" for release.
