Quavo was on a yacht in Miami when two men purportedly threatened the boat's captain.
Video shows the rapper being detained by police, but no one was ultimately arrested.
The fact that he was captured being detained with ties though certainly had his fans worried.
The video obtained by TMZ shows Quavo handcuffed with zip ties as he rests on a boat deck and appears to interact with at least three police officers. Miami police say they received a 911 call about an alleged strong-armed burglary on a yacht. Video courtesy of the news site can be seen below:
According to the incident report obtained by TMZ, one of the men threatened to kill the captain and cast him overboard if he reversed the yacht. One crew member told police he saw a man steal the captain's wallet and mobile phone, but police say other crew members gave contradictory accounts. In the video, there is also a group of women seated on the pier, while police lights flash and Quavo sits with his hands behind his back near the officers.
Per Local 10, the report revealed that 32-year-old Quavo, whose actual name is Quavious Keyate Marshall, was aboard the yacht with a group of people when they were notified that the rental period had expired and the boat needed to be returned. According to the report, two males, identified as Cornell Whitfield, 39, of Texas, and Anteneh Workeneh, 32, of Georgia, became "very aggressive" toward the boat captain and crew and demanded a refund. The boat's captain allegedly told police that Whitfield threatened to murder and toss him overboard if the boat was turned around. The boat captain also claimed that Whitfield removed his wallet containing approximately $3,500 and his cell phone before threatening to murder another crew member if the remainder of the rental money was not returned.
The police say they also discovered two firearms on the vessel, but they were not used in any alleged threats. The attorney for the Migos rapper, Drew Findling, tells TMZ that to be explicit, Quavo was not mentioned in the police report narrative.
Quavo was neither arrested nor listed as a witness in any purported dispute. No one on the yacht was ultimately arrested.
Unfortunately, this is not the first armed robbery Quavo has experienced. Allegedly, Quavo's chain was stolen in 2017 after he and the other Migos got into a fight backstage at a Washington, D.C. concert. Multiple individuals were detained at the scene by the Miami Beach Police Department and the Miami Police Department, but no suspect has been identified.
Regarding the previously mentioned D.C. altercation, the attack was perpetrated by them old O' Block, Glory Boys Chief Keef, and the late Fredo Santana. Nonetheless, people and nem realized they were tampering and eradicated it with the notorious "Miglo" selfie.
