Well we didn't see this coming, but apparently Game and Ed Sheeran have been putting some major work in at the studio and their joint album is almost done.
The Source notes the unlikely friendship took form at the beginning of the year and we're guessing the rest is history. Sheeran made the big reveal when asked how things were going with Game on the red carpet for the MTV Video Music Awards last Sunday.
"I'm a big fan (of Game)," Sheeran said. "He called me and I ended up doing just one song with him and the next day he came down to the session that I was in and we did about six songs. Then we just did more and more as that week went on and then it was all done."
No word on when to expect the collab to drop.
While Ed Sheeran's hip-hop collaboration may come as a surprise to some, this is nothing new for the British singer.
Earlier this month, the x singer teamed up with rapper Rick Ross for a remix of "Don't." More recently, Sheeran made an appearance on Los Angeles crooner Ty Dolla $ign's $ign Language mixtape.
On another end of the spectrum, Sheeran is close to teaming up with country duo Florida Georgia Line. "We haven't discussed it further than a conversation, but it's something we both want to happen," Sheeran said in a new interview with USA Today.
Ed Sheeran fans have got plenty to look forward to. Stay tuned for updates.
