Ariana Grande's friends reportedly never approved of the singer's estranged husband, Dalton Gomez.

Things happened fast between Grande and Gomez following their split in January. After trying to save their failing marriage, they soon moved on and started dating again, with the singer starting a new relationship with her "Wicked" co-star Ethan Slayer.

Ariana Grande's Friends Happy That She, Dalton Gomez Split

While the public has been hating Grande for being a homewrecker, the "7 Rings" pals reportedly felt at ease now since they believed Gomez was only using her for fame.

A source shared what Grande's pals thought of her estranged husband as she continues to receive degrading comments for clinging to a married and family man.

"She's been a fan of the musical for years, and this was her dream project, so she really threw herself into the part," the insider told In Touch Weekly, per Ok! Magazine. "She was working long hours and trying not to speak when she was off set in hopes of preserving her voice."

Because of these events, Grande's marriage to Gomez hit rock bottom, especially following the easement of restrictions after the COVID-19 pandemic. The estranged couple, who dated and tied the knot when the global health crisis emerged, started fighting over the past months, especially after she got her role in "Wicked," the source said.

Gomez is said to be "not used" to seeing her having a busy schedule. Although he initially understood it, the real estate broker reportedly started running out of patience.

According to the unnamed source, the estranged husband tried to talk it out with Grande. However, they ended up having an "epic fight" all night long, and the singer walked out afterward.

Dalton Gomez Wanted To Work Things Out

Before officially calling it quits, reports revealed that Gomez tried to save their failing marriage by doing all means, including visiting Grande at the "Wicked" set. Unfortunately, they realized that their relationship was no longer working out this year.

Gomez and Grande had to experience a long-distance marriage since he needs to stay in Los Angeles due to his demanding career. On the other hand, Grande needed to leave the city to start filming the adaptation in England.

After the failed attempts, the "Thank U, Next" already welcomed her "next" - Ethan Slayer - who recently filed for divorce from his wife, Lilly Jay, days after their dating rumors broke.
