Johnny Depp is thanking his fans for making all of his recent successes possible. Earlier this year, Depp and The Hollywood Vampires postponed some of their international concerts because the former needed a health break.
Johnny Depp Thanks Fans in First The Hollywood Vampires Concert
According to People Magazine, Depp and The Hollywood Vampire faced a 3,500-strong crowd at the Boch Center's Wang Theatre in Boston, Massachusets on Jul. 28, 2023.
Reportedly, before the performance even started, Depp went to the backstage entrance and approached his fans behind the barricade.
He took selfies, signed autographs and even hugged more than 20 of his fans backstage.
One fan, a 12-year-old girl, had a rather emotional selfie with Depp.
"He smiled at me and all I could get out was 'hi'," Molly Smith told the magazine "My mom got me into his movies and into his music. I can't believe I just met him."
Although his bandmates have long been in the music industry, the band's vocalist, Depp, is the most popular among them all. The Golden Globe and SAG Awardee is perhaps one of the most popular actors in the world with his film discography being ingrained in modern pop culture.
The publication also reported that as soon as Depp performed "People Who Died," the entire venue roared in cheer and applause. Chants from "We Love You Johnny" to "Jack Sparrow Rocks" were reportedly heard at the venue.
He also received an uproar of cheers and applause when he performed "Heroes" by David Bowie.
Johnny Depp, The Hollywood Vampires Concert Rescheduled?
After suffering an ankle injury last May 2023, Johnny Depp was forced to reschedule some of their concerts to make way for him to recuperate.
Those shows included the recent Boston show. They also went on the New Hampshire show the following day.
At the time, his medical team advised him to take a break and refrain from traveling.
Alice Cooper said that Depp arrived a day before his Boston concert, unlike his bandmates who arrived days before.
"We usually don't get that kind of time off, so my wife and I went everywhere in and around Boston," he said, adding that they got "some great food and played golf."
