It's about to be the fall of Maroon 5. Tomorrow (Sept. 2), the "Maps" band will release its new album V, and leading up to the release, today (Sept. 2), Adam Levine and co. performed a three-song mini-set in New York City for The Today Show.
Taking over multiple blocks in Rockefeller Plaza, Maroon 5 tackled two V songs, "Maps" and "It Was Always You" as well as old fan favorite "One More Night" off 2012's Overexposed.
Maroon 5 kicked things off with its lead V single "Maps," slowing things down in the opening verse before kicking it up a notch in the soaring chorus, led by Levine's smooth falsetto and the rich tones of the rest of the band. (Even microphone feedback couldn't make Levine stray from his vocal path.)
Keeping things tight, Maroon 5 continued to offer up snappy sounds with "One More Night" and "It Was Always You."

If you weren't lucky enough to be one of the thousands of fans at today's mini-set, worry not... Maroon 5 will probably be coming to a town near you by the end of the year.
In an interview between performances, Levine teased that a tour announcement will be made soon... as in, like, tomorrow.
"We have a majorly large announcement coming tomorrow about potentially maybe some huge tour that's going to be happening very soon," the M5 frontman said. "So, we're very excited about that."
An album release and a tour all in one day! Only Maroon 5...
The band's new album V will hit store shelves and digital retailers tomorrow. V is the fifth studio album from Maroon 5 and has been led by tracks "Maps," "It Was Always You" and "Animals."
