The Internet was shaken to its core when 14-year-old viral hit sensation Lil Tay and her brother were pronounced dead by their family on social media.

"We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribably pain. This outcome was entirely unexpected, and has left us all in shock," the statement, released on Instagram, read.

"Her bother's passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief. During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother's passing are still under investigation."

Lil Tay, or Claire Hope, became a social media star around 2017 to 2018 when she was 9 years old. She is known to rap and has scripted fights, posing with stacks of cash and flashy sports cars.

What was more surprising and concerning than Lil Tay's sudden death is her father's lack of reaction regarding the entire thing.

Is Lil Tay Really Dead?

According to Insider, when asked to confirm the viral rapper's death, Lil Tay's father, Christopher Hope, would not confirm nor deny the news.

On top of that, Lil Tay's manager, Harry Tsang, likewise also declined to comment about the death.

BNO News shared a screenshot of Tsang's response to their request for a statement.

"Given the complexities of the current circumstances, I am at a point where I cannot definitively confirm or dismiss the legitimacy of the statement issued by the family," the statement read.

"This situation calls for cautious consideration and respect for the sensitivities involved. My Commitment remains focused on delivering updates that are both reliable and appropriately timed."

Fans Begin Speculating on Lil Tay's Death

Following the numerous reports on Lil Tay, fans have begun sharing their theories on what they think is going on-a cover-up.

"Lil Tay's family is WEIRD ain't no way she go MIA for years and all of a sudden her and her brother pass away... investigate the whole family cause this crazy," a fan wrote.

"Lil Tay's entire online persona was crafted by her brother. He exploited her for money and now they're both dead. Something fishy going on," another added. "R.I.P. angel you deserve so much better."
