The speculation that Lil Tay is still alive emerged due to the "suspicious" details surrounding her reported death.

The music industry mourned the famous YouTube star and internet rapper Lil Tay, who died at the young age of 14. Her management company confirmed the development to Variety after her family announced her "sudden and tragic" and "entirely unexpected" death through her Instagram page.

It revealed that her brother, Jason Tian, also died.

Lil Tay's Death Announcement Suspicious?

The death announcement has since divided the internet as people believed Lil Tay's parents "faked her death."

On Twitter, the phrase "Lil Tay is alive" became a hub for theories that the young rapper, born Claire Hope, is still alive.

A user shared a screenshot from "credible sources" showing a conversation between Lil Tay and another person in which the young artist exposed her alleged abusive parents who want to take everything over. The Instagram user who posted the chat also asked the public not to believe anything that is on her Instagram page since her parents are now running it.

"Reports are saying the youngest flexer in the game Lil Tay (Claire Hope) is still alive and that their parents actually faked her death to get her off the internet," another wrote. "Bro what is even going on anymore."

"when Lil Tay is actually alive and her video back is gunna be her waking up out of a fake casket," one added. "OH she bout to gag the internet."

The buzz started on Instagram when it shared a shocking announcement regarding Lil Tay's alleged death.

"It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire's sudden and tragic passing," the post read. "This outcome was entirely unexpected and has left us all in shock. Her brother's passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief."

Insider reached out to her father, Christopher Hope, for a comment, but he said he could not do so and declined to answer whether Lil Tay was still alive.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department and the county medical examiner have no information for a probe into the death of anyone named Claire Hope. The Vancouver Police Department shared a similar response.
