A few people might remember when "Slave to The Rhythm" debuted in 2010 but just in case: The song, a posthumous release from Michael Jackson, got a limited release following the pop star's death. Now it's making a comeback thanks to a remix by Justin Bieber, perhaps Jackson's heir apparent to the King of Pop title.
Bieber's actual role in the remix is limited. He gets a little vocal action in, but most of the lyrics and vocals are left to Jackson's original recordings. As with most remixes, the "instrumental" aspect has been amplified and given a more EDM/dubstep vibe. The Jackson original was produced by Tricky Stewart, the same guy who produced "Baby" for Bieber.
There's no word on where this remix was to appear, but Bieber gave some Twitter hints that suggested something could be in development.
"Excited for what's to come. MJ set the bar. Not only for being an entertainer and how u treat the fans. Wish he was here..." Bieber tweeted Friday, albeit not mentioning the remix. "All of it is not always easy but it is a blessing. We can change the world. I'm up for the challenge. Big things ahead! #greatness. love you."
Stay tuned, and for now give the remix of "Slave to The Rhythm" a listen below.
