Over the past week, Kanye West and his "wife" Bianca Censori have enjoyed a luxurious tour of Italy as he prepares to create a cultural revolution.
Bianca, 28, is a fashion enthusiast who has no problem showing up to some of the most stylish places in Florence and Rome barefoot.
Recently, Bianca had on a barely-there bikini top, leggings and was walking around shoeless while Kanye West visited a fabric factory in Prato East. However, the "Donda" rapper has been walking around Italy without wearing any shoes as well.
Having worked as Kanye West's head of media and partnerships for seven months before stepping down in October, Jason Lee - host of "Hollywood Unlocked," - does not doubt that the decision to go barefoot was Kanye and Bianca's way of making a statement while also garnering publicity.
The journalist told Page Six, "I think the fact that people are talking about Kanye's feet shows just how much power he still has in the wake of cancel culture."
"It's a smart and strategic move. I wouldn't be surprised if the next time we saw shoes on his feet, it would be a project that he designed."
Kanye West, who legally changed his name to Ye, had recently lost billions of dollars but was already spotted walking around Los Angeles without footwear months ago.
In October 2022, the 46-year-old former husband of Kim Kardashian faced a severe financial setback after making comments that were deemed anti-Semitic. His business arrangement with Adidas amounted to $1.5 billion.
Kanye West also lost his membership at the prestigious Soho House.
He had been using its downtown Los Angeles location to work on "Donda 2" and often visited the Austin, Texas, club too.
When news of the anti-semitic quotes spread, Soho House management quickly revoked the rapper's membership despite him being polite and paying his dues. A Soho House spokesperson commented: "We don't talk about our members or their individual memberships."
Though he had been polite and paid his dues, the decision was firm and without exception. A spokesperson for Soho House commented on the situation: "We don't comment on membership or members."
Jason suggested that despite Kanye's status as a cultural icon, the Yeezy creator does not recognize the might of what comes out of his mouth. He reportedly told Kanye in a text message that it is his choice what kind of impact his words have; they could either benefit or harm him.
Jason added, "He has the power and he can exercise it for his benefit or detriment. He makes the choice."
