Next month, Rina Sawayama and her fans, known as Pixels, will celebrate the first anniversary of her second studio album "Sawayama" and as a surprise, the singer will drop the reissue version of the record with a completely different album cover.
Taking to her official social media accounts, the British singer shared the new album art of her 2022 album featuring herself sitting in a chair with a blue background as a hand hold her chin up.
In the caption, the "Paradisin'" songstress wrote, "Can't believe it's almost been a year since #HoldTheGirl became yours and what a year it's been !! In honour of the one year anniversary, I wanted to reissue the album with fresh art"
Sawayama also noted that the new album art will replace everything on streaming services, vinyl, and CD formats.
In a follow-up post on X, the singer noted that the image she chose has always been her love as "it encapsulates the album and all of its themes."
As of this writing, the singer has yet to reveal the reason why she changed the album cover, she also never shared if there would be new songs to accompany the release.

The latest announcement comes almost a year after fans shared their negative comments about "Hold the Girl's" original album cover.
The original photo features Rina Sawayama standing in front of a red background as she donned a globe-like outfit and long nails which many of her fans didn't like.
"like why would she choose the WORST image as the cover..." one wrote at the time.
"She was giving bowling pin that wouldn't fall down," one joked.

Now that Rina Sawayama finally decided to change the album cover of her album, fans expressed their excitement on a Reddit thread.
"this art is stunning and should've been the album art in the first place," one wrote.
"very happy about this reissue, the updated cover is beautiful," another one wrote.
"this cover is honestly way better than the weird ball one she apparently used," one expressed.
In other updates, Rina Sawayama is packed with scheduled performances for the rest of the year as she's set to perform at her "Hold the Girl" tour as well as appearances in music festivals.
