News broke that Sam Asghari had filed for divorce from his wife of 14 months, Britney Spears.

Enraged, many of the pop star's ardent followers took to social media to air their grievances.

Accusations flew that Sam had never truly loved Britney and was using the situation to "take her money."

Reports by Page Six claim he was even threatening to expose "embarrassing" info about the "Baby One More Time" singer unless she changed terms in their prenuptial agreement.

It was alleged that model Sam is attempting to leverage payments from Britney using information he believes could damage her public image. According to an anonymous source, his strategy focuses on negotiating more than what was initially outlined in their prenup agreement.

A different source stated to the outlet in private that the "Toxic" diva has a strong support system around her and that the former couple's break-up will be respectful.

They emphasized, "It's blackmail, and it'll never happen."

TMZ reports that the marriage of Britney Spears and Sam Asghari is seemingly over following a dispute regarding recent cheating allegations.

A source for the outlet said it's only a matter of time until divorce proceedings begin, with him having already vacated their spacious Southern California residence.

Many have taken to social media to express shock and outrage over how Britney Spears' life has been managed.

A Twitter user commented, "How can they be allowed to make decisions for her that affect every part of her life?"

After the "betrayal," countless people encouraged others to stop following him on social media.

"Will Brittney ever catch a break? Goodness, seems like anything anyone is ever after is her money," another said.

Another tweeted, "I can't imagine what could be more embarrassing than what she releases herself daily. She is endlessly taken advantage of sadly."

In light of the news, many have taken a humorous angle, quipping that Hollywood star Pete Davidson may soon be coming to "save" Britney Spears. Of course, it's no secret that this 29-year-old has been linked with celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Emily Ratajkowski.

29-year-old Sam, who is an actor, model and gym instructor, has submitted the paperwork to end his marriage legally.

TMZ was able to see the docs and it cited "irreconcilable differences" and listing July 28, 2023, as the date of separation. It is also claimed that Sam is seeking spousal support and payment for lawyer's fees.

In a bid to challenge the prenup between him and Britney, Sam has enlisted the help of defense attorney Neal Hersh. Moreover, Variety reported that the singer has also acquired a dream team of renowned celebrity lawyers, such as Laura Wesser.

In his recent divorce filing, Sam clarifies that Britney's assets should be treated as separate property, not marital assets.

Nevertheless, he states, "I have yet to determine all of Britney's obligations and properties. [Sam] needs to be made aware of the precise characteristics and magnitude of assorted community-held assets and liabilities. This much is certain, according to the document."
