Could Britney Spears' fortune handle the financial impact of Sam Asghari's divorce if she was ordered to pay him spousal support?
Talks about payouts emerged after Asghari filed for divorce from Spears. Multiple news outlets said he would challenge it and contest his prenup agreement to receive money from the singer, but the hunk and his representatives have since denied the claims.
But could Spears handle it if she was ever demanded to make the payouts?
Britney Spears' Net Worth 2023
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Britney Spears' net worth as of 2023 is $70 million - although other news outlets estimated it at $60 million only.
With her whopping fortune, questions about her capacity to cover spousal support emerged. The prenup reportedly stated the terms, which included Asghari receiving $1 million every two years of their marriage, with a cap of $10 million after 15 years.
Since they married in June 2022, Asghari would not be entitled to get a million from his estranged wife.
Us Weekly said the estranged couple's prenup also guards Spears' net worth; thus, Asghari would walk away without a penny on his hands. However, it does not mean he will not get anything from her as he will be allowed to keep his vehicles and the gifts he received from his ex-wife "in accordance with the prenup."
Even without the prenup, Spears would still likely keep a huge amount of her fortune after settling anything with Asghari.
The queries surfaced after a source revealed to ET why they called it quits.
"The two haven't got along for a while and it finally came to an end after a major blowup," the source said. "Sam believes that Britney cheated on him. He believes he caught her in a lie and it caused him to be done with the relationship."
Britney Spears, Sam Asghari's Relationship Went Downhill After Conservatorship Battle?
Although Asghari already broke his silence on the divorce, another insider claimed their relationship hit rock bottom after Spears' conservatorship came to an end in November 2021.
According to the unnamed source, the "Toxic" singer felt like her ex-husband did not let her do things she wanted to do without him, noting that Asghari had always been supportive amid the conservatorship.
However, a few months later, their relationship's dynamics suddenly changed, especially since Spears does not want anyone to control her.
