Raju Punjabi, who famously scored the nickname "King of Tunes," died days after he was hospitalized following a mysterious illness.
India TV News confirmed that the Haryanavi singer, 40, following his hospitalization in a medical facility in Haryana where he had been staying for days to undergo treatment for jaundice. He was discharged after his health improved, but he entered the hospital again after his health immediately deteriorated.
Singer Raju Punjabi Dead at 40
It remains unknown whether his jaundice had something to do with his death; however, multiple health websites explain that, while the condition is usually not life-threatening, it is actually a symptom of a more serious health condition.
His official Instagram page confirmed his passing, writing the announcement in Hindi.
"With profound grief and sorrow, we regret to inform you that famous Haryanvi singer Raju Punjabi has left for the heavenly abode," it detailed. "His last rites will be performed on Tuesday (August 22, 2023) at his native village Rawatsar in Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan, near Khetarpal temple at 3 PM."
Indian rapper and singer KD Desi Rock uploaded a photo of the singer in his hospital bed, writing, "Raju, come back."

The Sun revealed that Punjabi's body would be taken to Rawatsar Kheda where his bereaved family would hold services as they say their goodbye to him.
Following the news about his death, fans flooded his social media accounts with heartfelt tributes as they remembered his life and contributions to the music industry.
"A great tragedy in the world of music, the king of tunes Har Dil Aziz, our dear brother Raju Punjabi ji has said goodbye to the world," one said, while another wrote, "The father of three small children Raju Punjabi was special in the entire Haryanvi industry."
Adv, Ashutosh J. Dubey penned, "Singer Raju Punjabi, who achieved new milestones in Haryanvi singing, staying away from all kinds of controversies and giving his time only to art, is no more among us. Salute!!"
Singer Raju Punjabi's Career
Punjabi was still able to release the song " Aapse Milke Yaara Humko Achha Laga Tha," which took him almost two years to complete, prior to his hospitalization. His other hit songs include "Desi-Desi," "Tu Cheez Lajwab," and "Solid Body."
He also famously collaborated with other singers, including Sapna Chowdhary.
