Selena Gomez is about to drop her first song "Single Soon" in years, and it's already gaining traction from fans online.
Can this upcoming song be her next chart-topping hit, after her highly successful releases like "Lose You to Love Me," "We Don't Talk Anymore" with Charlie Puth, " "Calm Down" with Rema, and more?
Forbes magazine thinks so. The song is monumental for Gomez' fans, after all, this is her first song-that she has done solo-since she released her 2020 album "Rare."
Right after it was announced, "Single Soon" instantly topped the Billboard Hot Trending Songs Chart. Although that alone is not enough evidence to cite in order to know for sure if the song will make it to the top of the music charts, Gomez has always been a fan favorite.
Selena Gomez's New Song Coming Very Soon
The singer slash actress has been so busy with her other projects like starring in the Hulu series "Only Murders in the Building" and her makeup brand Rare Beauty.
Fans are definitely excited to finally hear that Gomez is finally coming back to the music industry with her very own song, and a pop song at that.
In fact, just hours before the release of "Single Soon," she unveiled an 11-second snippet from the music video.
It features a voice recording of her younger sister, Gracie Elliot Teefey, saying: "Hi, sissy, Never worry about boyfriends-at all."
The snippet also shows Gomez dancing in a club and having drinks with friends as she sings what seems to be a line from the chorus, "I'll be single soon."
The song will premiere later at 9 p.m., Pacific Time.
Selena Gomez Returns to the Music Industry
Gomez began her career as a child actress. She starred as Alex Russo in the Disney Channel show "Wizards of Waverly Place" for years before eventually embarking on a music career.
She has collaborated with some of the most popular and multi-awarded artists in the generation like Charlie Puth, BLACKPINK, J Balvin, Cardi B, Ozuna, and more.
Her only No. 1 song on the Billboard chart is "Lose to to Love Me," while her other releases like "Good For you" and "Same Old Love" peaked at No. 5.
While Gomez has not achieved many No. 1 hits, her songs are consistently peaking somewhere in the Billboard Hot 100.
