It's yet another financial penalty for R. Kelly and his former manager, Donnell Russell.

The two have been taken to court by more victims over claims of terrorist threats being made.

On Friday (August 25), a court granted six victims of R. Kelly and his former manager $10.5 million due to the events that unfolded in September 2018.

During this time, the six victims attempted to host a screening for the Surviving R. Kelly documentary; however, their plans were thwarted by alleged threats from both Kelly and Russell.

In documents obtained by TMZ, it stated, "The defendants waged a campaign, starting in May 2018, to intimidate the women, A&E/Lifetime, and the producers to stop screening the docuseries."

"When those efforts, including legal threats, failed ... they claimed Kelly's camp called producers on the night of the NYC screening and said someone was 'going to shoot up the place."

Though R. Kelly faces the next three decades of jail, the financial repercussions stemming from this case continue to mount.

This civil suit resulted from the threats that left six victims with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and panic attacks, now receiving compensation for their suffering.

In a stunning decision, US District Judge Ann Donnelly ruled to require R. Kelly and his label, Universal Music Group, to pay over half a million dollars in royalties to the victims of his sexual abuse cases as restitution for their suffering.

Months ago, Brooklyn prosecutors sought a writ of continuing garnishment to obtain $28,000 for R. Kelly's victims to settle his debt.

This amount was contained within his prison canteen account. Under this writ, creditors (acting on behalf of their victims) can pursue money from debtors (R. Kelly's record labels).

The document filed against Sony Music Entertainment states, "The outstanding balance on the judgment described above is $504,289.73, including interest, as of June 1, 2023. Interest is continuing to accrue."

In pursuit of recovering money owed to him, a writ of continuing garnishment was filed against R. Kelly's label because it was believed they possessed property belonging to him, which could be used to pay back or thoroughly wipe out his debt.

A ruling from the Illinois Supreme Court at the start of March significantly impacted Heather Williams and disgraced singer R. Kelly.

The court decided that Heather was due to access to Kelly's label fund, estimated to be worth around $1.5 million this year, according to Billboard.

Also affected by the ruling was Midwest Commercial Funding; they had previously won a separate judgment totaling $3.5 million against R Kelly for unpaid rent on his Chicago studio.

In 2019, legal action was initiated by the accuser Jerhonda Pace against R. Kelly when she filed a civil lawsuit against him.
