Jessica Simpson's Weight Issues Throughout the Years
In 2012, Simpson inked a deal to be a spokesperson for Weight Watchers to kick off her weight loss journey. Notably, fans of the singer knew her for having a voluptuous stature back in the 90s.
Per Women's Health, she has since lost 60 pounds as she continues to have a stricter regimen.
Her grueling journey toward weight loss was prompted by what seemed to be her body dysmorphia, as some fans claim. Back then, Simpson confessed to Entertainment Tonight that she couldn't bear to have her husband see her naked as she felt the need to wear a white shirt, even when showering.
At the young age of 17, she recalled being asked by a music executive to lose 15 pounds in order for her to make it into the business, which led to her addiction to diet pills. She also had tummy tucks that caused her to have an infection post-op.
Page Six also revealed that Simpson was one of the many celebrities who used a Type 2 Diabetes medicine to shed weight.
"Do people want me to be drinking again?" she told Bustle Magazine in an interview. "Because that's when I was heavier. Or they want me to be having another baby? My body can't do it."
However, Simpson was confident, saying she's "too old" for that and that she's "too connected" to herself now.
