Nicki Minaj is releasing her new song, "Last Time I Saw You," and the Barbz are aiming to pull another chart milestone with the said song.

However, Doja Cat's "Paint The Town Red" is projected to peak at No. 1, on the same week, which could mean a possible standoff between the two rap records.

Nicki Minaj 'Last Time I Saw You'

According to the Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj, her latest song, "Last Time I Saw You," will be released on Sep. 1, 2023, this coming Friday.

This is the lead single of her highly-anticipated album, "Pink Friday 2." Minaj teased the said song on TikTok, which has since been making waves on the platform.

If Minaj managed to debut the said song at the No. 1 spot, she would achieve a huge chart milestone.

Notably, it has since been a full year since a rap song debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Minaj was the last one to do that with "Super Freaky Girl." If she manages to debut "Last Time I Saw You" at the top, it would be a back-to-back record for her.

Since "Super Freaky Girl" was released in August 2022, the song has been certified double Platinum by the RIAA, broke the Spotify record for the biggest debut for a solo female rap song, and won Best Song at the 2022 MTVE European Music Awards, among other accomplishments.

Its music video has been nominated for Best Hip-Hop, Best Visual Effects, and Video of the Year at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

Doja Cat 'Paint The Town Red', 'Demons'

However, Nicki Minaj's chart milestone might be derailed by Doja Cat. Her sleeper hit, "Paint The Town Red," which slowly crept up to the Top 5 this week, is projected to peak at No. 1 next week.

If Doja Cat manages to pull a last-minute clincher, as per chart projections, she could stop Nicki Minaj pulling a back-to-back female rap domination. Although Doja Cat has angered her fans lately after a string of lashing outs, streaming and radio airplay for the song has powered it through.

It is important to note that everything is still conditional. "Paint The Town Red" should manage to overcome the growing popularity of Oliver Anthony's overnight country anthem "Rich Men North of Richmond" at the top of the charts, before securing the said chart record.

Also, her newest song, "Demons," will be released on the same day as "Last Time I Saw You" will be released too.

Who do you think will manage to debut at the top?
