Accidents during performances are inevitable. While some suffer more damaging incidents, most of the time, artists are lucky to avoid these.
In the case of Ellie Goulding, she managed to miss a pyrotechnic accident that almost blasted her face.
Ellie Goulding Pyrotechnic Accident Update
A now-trending video of Ellie Goulding captured by a fan made rounds on social media. In the video, Goulding was performing her song "Miracle" when she was almost hit by a firework on stage.
Shortly after the firework blasted, Goulding was unscathed, but an inch closer to the left would have hit the singer's face. She can be heard screaming an expletive as the firework blasted.
Goulding was at the Victorious Festival in Portsmouth, England last Aug. 27, 2023.
In the comment section, fans who were present at the festival thought that Goulding wasn't actually hit with the firework, but some claimed that she was.
However, Goulding took to Instagram to clarify that things were okay after the worrying incident.
"to those asking I am ok! Pyro didn't hit me directly in the face. Face is intact. Love you thank you," she assured her fans. (via Billboard)
Goulding has been on a roll with the rollout of her single "Miracle" recently as she teamed up with Calvin Harris for a long while. The song spent eight nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the UK Singles chart.
Pyrotechnic, Fan-Initiated Accidents During Concerts
Accidents like these are something that happens more commonly than what others think.
In 2022, Lil Durk was blasted directly in the eye by a pyrotechnic at his Lollapalooza Chicago set. His right eye was injured at the time, prompting him to cancel his set.
Earlier this year, fan-initiated incidents saw a drastic rise. Bebe Rexha was on the receiving end of a fan attack when an irresponsible concertgoer threw her a cell phone, resulting in a huge black eye. Pink even received unusual gifts from fans onstage - from human ashes to a 6-pound Brie cheese wheel.
Even superstars like Harry Styles, Drake, and even Taylor Swift couldn't escape the horrors of objects being thrown at them.
Cardi B was almost sued by battery after she threw a mic at a fan who splashed her water while onstage.
