New reports about Ariana Grande's departure from Scooter Braun and HYBE Management have emerged. This came weeks after insiders revealed (and refuted) that Grande, along with Justin Bieber, has left the care of their longstanding manager.
Ariana Grande Exits Scooter Braun, HYBE America
According to a Variety source with direct knowledge of the scene, Ariana Grande seemed to officially split with Scooter Braun, SB Projects, and HYBE America.
Apparently, since the news came about, Braun's team has only been spinning the story.
"Ariana is leaving both Scooter and HYBE. There is absolutely no truth to her staying," the source confirmed, attesting that the unfollowing of Grande to Braun on social media earlier this week held weight.
Earlier this week, speculation around Ariana Grande and Scooter Braun's relationship grew as the popstar seemed to have followed Braun on Instagram, but after the news came about, she's not anymore.
"They are friendly but she's outgrown him and is excited to go in a different direction," they added. "Yes, there are negotiations happening because of contracts. But this is her choice. It's time for something new."
Billboard was the one to break the story first but sources close to Braun have immediately refuted the allegations.
A People Magazine source clarified that all of Braun's clients are still bound by contracts as a shift in management has been taking place because he is adjusting to a larger role as HYBE America's CEO.
"People are spreading rumors based on what they know, but they are off. Scooter's team at SB Projects are still handling both Justin [Bieber] and Ariana as they work through what this new structure looks like," the source added.
Ariana Grande Seeks New Management
Another Variety source said that Ariana Grande has been taking meetings recently. She has talked to at least one management firm as she decided to build her own with her mother joining too.
Grande is reportedly eyeing a structure described as "similar to that of Taylor Swift and other major artists" where her management personnel are paid in "healthy annual salary" rather than by commission.
They also added that Grande has been taking the time to figure out her next move although she has received inquiries from multiple potential managers wanting to take care of her.
As for Justin Bieber, it is highly likely that the same could be happening although it has not been reported yet with much more evidence.
