U.K. singer-songwriter Faye Fantarrow has died at the age of 21, her publicist confirmed in a statement.

Fantarrow's mother, Pam, delivered heartbreaking news on X about the musician's death, revealing she died on August 26 at their home. The young musician was mentored by Eurythmics co-founder, Dave Stewart, whose label produced her debut album earlier this year.

Singer Faye Fantarrow's Cause of Death Revealed

Faye Fantarrow's cause of death was a rare brain tumor called Glioma tumor. The doctors detected the disorder in her brain nearly a year ago, becoming her new health battle after facing and surviving leukemia twice when she was 8 and 13.

"We are beyond grief," her mother wrote following the devastating loss. "We are broken beyond repair. We are cast adrift beyond despair. We are bereft of a love that outshone the stars, the moon and the sun."

Stewart has since issued a separate statement to honor Fantarrow who was "a true artist in every sense."

"It has been both traumatic and beautiful to witness their strength and dignity, and I am so sorry the world only got to witness Faye's genius for such a short time," the musician said. "She is one of the true greats, a northern girl on fire with her lyrics and melodies. I loved her deeply."

John Hopkins Medicine's official website says 33 percent of brain tumors are gliomas, which grow within the substance of the organ and mix with the normal tissue.

Fantarrow's publicist said the singer raised almost $300,000 in a fundraising campaign that would cover her experimental treatment at City of Hope. However, she became too sick to return and receive follow-up care.

The excess amount in the fund was donated to the charity that funds research into the disease in her memory.

Faye Fantarrow's Career Explored

Fantarrow enjoyed her short-lived career despite going through a tough time because of her illness. She moved up the release of her debut EP, "AWOL," to an earlier date to deal with her health issue.

While she had a private health battle, she reportedly supported other musicians as she grew further in the music scene.

Before her death, she received the "One to Watch" recognition from BBC Music Introducing and Alan Hull's annual Songwriting Awards in 2021.
