Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's rumored split did not happen instantly.
Jonas and Turner wed in 2019 and welcomed their first child, Willa, together in 2020. Their second daughter, who was born in 2022, became the latest addition to the family.
However, their relationship seemingly hit rock bottom recently as divorce rumors surfaced.
Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner Heading for Divorce: Signs of Split Obvious?
A news outlet started the buzz on Sunday as it reported that Jonas and Turner decided to call it quits and are preparing for their divorce.
"Joe had his people contact and consult with at least 2 L.A.-area divorce lawyers and he is on the cusp of filing divorce docs to end his marriage to Sophie," the insider said.
The source added that the estranged couple has been dealing with serious problems over the past six months and that the Jonas Brothers member has been caring for their children all the time, even while he is touring.
Before the news broke, both of them seemingly showed signs of their dying marriage, including their social media posts and public outings.
For instance, Joe has not shared any photo of the "Game of Thrones" actress over the past weeks since July 1. His last post featuring his estranged wife included a blurry third image at a wedding reception.
Turner also did not join the 34th birthday celebration of Jonas on August 15, with the musician only posing with his loved ones: his parents, his brother Nick, and the latter's wife, Priyanka Chopra.
Still, she sent him a birthday greeting through an Instagram post and uploaded photos of herself kissing her husband on the hand during an outing.
Meanwhile, Jonas reportedly made appearances sans his wedding ring for weeks, sparking rumors that their relationship was truly over. A spokesperson has since told the Mirror that they do not comment on the couple's personal lives, igniting the divorce rumors even more.

Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner "Kissed Goodbye"
Body language expert Judi James told exclusively to Mirror that the estranged couple looked more like friends in one of the final photos taken before the splitsville story surfaced.
"If this were a signal of devotion, she might look him in the eyes as she kissed it to add a flirty, romantic message to the gesture, but by looking away she seems to have put a different and meaningful spin on the ritual," she explained.
The photo in question captured Turner kissing Jonas' hand while looking at a distance.
For James, it was a sign that the estranged couple is now only friends but still have feelings toward each other.
