"Pink Friday 2" is Nicki Minaj's upcoming album, which she claims will be the "best album released in years."
The 40-year-old rapper used Friday, January 23, to unveil her new single, "Last Time I Saw You," and to show her excitement for the upcoming album, which will be out on November 13.
"Please enjoy the song as much as I have enjoyed creating it, and just know that 'Pink Friday 2' is going to be the best album that's been released in years," Nicki wrote in a note posted on her website. I adore you.
The new song, which Minaj discussed with her fans, is rumored to be the third promotional single for the album.
"I can't thank you enough for your love and continued support," the 'Super Bass' musician posted on social media.
She said that she has not been this thrilled to release a song.
The 'Super Bass' artist wrote, "I can't thank you enough for your love and continued support. I have not been excited about the release of a song to this extent for maybe... I don't know I can't even tell you, I don't even remember when!"
"I hope that it's therapeutic for you. I hope that even after, it makes you reflect and that if you are reflecting on a time, or a person that you wish you could go back in time and have a do over etc... I hope that you are still able to smile at the end of the song by realising that you now have a chance to treat the people that you love, that are still in your life the way that expresses to them what they mean to you."
She tweeted in May: "Oh yes fractions warned, SFG did what fractions warned. Red Ruby Da Sleeze MOTHERED so hard and is now the standard. NM5 is the best thing that will come out of 2023 and will raise the bar to new and unreachable heights. NM5 tour will be hailed as "genius". That's it and that's all. (sic)"
The song is definitely becoming catching waves.
The first listen to the Queen of Rap's Pink Friday sequel was the most anticipated new music release of the previous week, according to a poll taken by music enthusiasts and posted on Billboard on Friday, September 1.
The song "Last Time I Saw You" received about 48% of the vote, surpassing other songs such as "Ex-Special" by Jhayco and Peso Pluma, "Demons" by Doja Cat, "Keep Going Up" by Timbaland starring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, "Kat Food" by Lil Wayne, and others.
The album is scheduled for release on November 17. It will be the follow-up to Minaj's 2018 Queen, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and produced hits like "Chun-Li" and "Good Form," as well as the sequel to her maiden studio album, which peaked at No. 200 on the Billboard 200.
"Last Time I Saw You" is said to be reminiscent of Pink Friday's original "Moment 4 Life," with a soft pop production serving as the backdrop for a passionate sing-rap performance as Minaj expresses her thoughts about slipping away from someone precious.
With 27% of the vote, Timbaland's dream team song "Keep Going Up" is trailing behind "Last Time I Saw You" in the poll. Timbaland, Timberlake, and Furtado reunited for their newest collaboration, "Keep Going Up," sixteen years after releasing their Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper "Give It to Me" in 2007.
