Snow Patrol shared its future after announcing Jonny Quinn and Paul "Pablo" Wilson's departure from the band.
On Friday, "Chasing Cars" hitmaker Snow Patrol confirmed in an Instagram post that Quinn and Wilson left the group, expressing how broken the remaining members are.
"This first post is purely to let you all know what's happening," the band informed the fans. "The next two posts will be dedicated to Jonny and Pablo separately as they deserve to each have a proper and individual send off."
Will Snow Patrol Disband?
While Snow Patrol fans were left shocked by the news, Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly and Johnny McDaid would reportedly continue as a band and drop a new album in 2024.
However, they refused to share further details of the new material for now as the members want to take time to pay homage and thank Quinn and Wilson for their time with them.
Snow Patrol posted two more updates dedicated to Quinn and Wilson.
In the post about Quinn, the band recalled the time he joined Snow Patrol in 1997. Lightbody praised him for being a person who was "more than a drummer" because he also worked in band management and gig promotion, as well as taking on the role of manager over the past few years.
Meanwhile, Lightbody praised Wilson's guitar skills, which he already showed off before becoming Snow Patrol's bassist in 2005.
A buzz, however, emerged after Quinn's wife Mariane replied to a comment about the group not being the same without the drummer, saying, "It's been a f---er. F---ed by you know who."
What Happened to Jonny Quinn and His Bandmates?
Mariane's comment hinted at the real reason behind Quinn's "departure" from the band. She then shared a separate post in which she thanked everyone except McDaid.
"I'm so incredibly proud of my husband and it's with very mixed feelings that Jonny is announcing his departure from the band," she said in her private Instagram page, per Belfast Telegraph. "So many amazing times, so many incredible people and experiences. I couldn't have dreamt it. Sad the reason for leaving is not the best, but excited about what lies ahead."
McDaid, Courteney Cox's longtime partner, joined Snow Patrol in 2011 as a full-time member. It remains unknown whether he has beef with the newly exited members.
