The news that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are divorcing has left the Elvis impersonator, who wed them in Las Vegas, "heartbroken."

This Tuesday, Joe filed for divorce, declaring that the marriage was "irretrievably broken" and that he and Sophie intended to split child custody.

They have two daughters together: Willa, age three, and DJ, age one, whose name they have withheld but who appears as "DJ" in court records.

Now, in a heartfelt new interview with TMZ, their wedding officiant Jesse Garron revealed his feelings over the breakup while wearing an authentic Elvis Presley outfit.

According to the impersonator, they were "playful with each other" and "very in love" when they got married. Garron disclosed that his dream was to see a Jonas Brothers performance and give Joe a memento - the Ring Pop wrapper that he used on May Day 2019 at their late-night nuptials instead of a real ring.

Joe and Sophie shocked everyone by announcing their engagement to the world just hours after attending the Billboard Music Awards that evening and giving no indication to the public about their plans. Soon after the wedding in Vegas, pictures and video began to circulate.

One of the photos showed the bride and groom posing with Jesse and the other Jonas Brothers, Kevin and Nick.

He said, "I'm just heartbroken and sad and just distraught over this whole thing."

He added, 'it seemed like they were in love, and they had dated, I think, longer than they were married, so I figured these guys gotta know each other pretty well."

Actually, Joe and Sophie dated for three years before being married, which lasted for four years until it ended this week. The Elvis impersonator also discussed Kevin and Nick's separate nuptials to Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and Danielle DeLeasa in his most recent interview.

Because his two brothers are still married and he is not, Jesse remarked that Joe must be feeling like a big dupe.

This interview comes after a close friend of Sophie's claimed to MailOnline that she felt stuck in her marriage to Joe Jonas and felt as though she had "missed out" on her carefree, impressionable years following their early marriage and the birth of their two children. The couple began having issues last Christmas, according to a friend of Sophie's who wished to remain anonymous.

She broke up with him at the beginning of the summer and spent the following months partying in the UK or taking trips throughout Europe with her school pals.
