Jason Aldean was hit with criticisms following the release of his highly controversial music video for his song, "Try That in a Small Town," a few months ago.
Despite the backlash online, the country music singer doubled down on his belief and carried on with his life, probably putting the past behind him.
However, a group of communist revolutionaries did not let Aldean off the hook. According to reports, they stormed the singer's concert venue in Chicago and held a protest demonstration.
The protesters, who were raising awareness about the Revolutionary Communist Party, praised China's Mao Zhedong's Cultural Revolution and claimed that the US was "the belly of the beast."
They were also chanting, "We did it in a small town," as a response to Aldean's music video for "Try That in a Small Town," which people labeled as "pro-lynching."
Jason Aldean 'Try That in a Small Town' Controversy
According to Today, Aldean denied the allegations that his song's music video is "pro-lynching" and promotes violence and said that it only reflected his view of being "raised up right."
"These references are not only meritless, but dangerous," Aldean wrote in a Tweet. "There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it- and there isn't a single video clip that isn't real news footage -and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music- this one goes too far."
"'Try That In A Small Town,' for me, refers to the feeling of a community that I had growing up, where we took care of our neighbors, regardless of differences of background or belief."
Jason Aldean Concert Overshadowed by Protest Demonstrations
The protesters who were outside Aldean's concert made sure to get their message across by burning the American flag and cussed the singer and his song, calling it "a piece of fascist s**t."
"Guess what, Jason? We will try that in a small town," said Rafael Kadaris to Chicago Tribute. "We will try that in a big city. And we will try it right in front of your concert."
According to the New York Post, police were eventually deployed to the venue, and ordered the protesters to leave.
"You are disturbing the public peace without the authority of law," said a police officer. "We are ordering you to immediately disperse. Failure to comply can result in chemical or less legal conditions being deployed."
