Demi Lovato has turned over a new leaf after coming to terms with and ending some of her past mental struggles.
Aside from her frequent trips to rehab, the "Cool For The Summer" singer was also known for getting into relationships with older men, which she attributed that to her "daddy issues."
"I think what I went through is that I had a phase of dating older men and dating older guys," Lovato said during her appearance on "The Howard Stern Show." "I went through a phase where I was attracted to older guys because of my daddy issues, obviously."
She has been quite candid about this, as Lovato has written a telling rock song titled "29," alluding to her previous relationship with Wilmer Valderrama.
"I look back on the past and think, 'That's gross,'" The "Heart Attack" singer continued. "I was a teenager. And so, to me, that's gross. If you are 50 and 60, you're fine. Even 30 and 40, that's not gross at all."
Demi Lovato, Wilmer Valderrama Relationship
While Lovato did not really name anyone during her interview, or even on her hit song, fans speculate that she might be referring to the "That 70's Show" actor, who is 12 years her senior.
She dated him while she was 17, and he was 29, hence the song title. The lyrics, on the other hand, is the most telling of all: "Finally twenty-nine/ Funny, just like you were at the time/ Thought it was a teenage dream, just a fantasy/ But was it yours or was it mine?/ Seventeen, twenty-nine."

Demi Lovato Resolves Her 'Daddy Issues'
Lovato is now dating Jordan Lutes, better known as Jutes, who is 32 years old, just a year older than her.
"But I think that when you're in those developmental years, you should absolutely not be with somebody that is older than you by that much," the singer continued. "It's just unhealthy and toxic."
While Lovato laments her past relationship and the age gap, she gushes about Jutes, "There's just this partnership there that is so magnetic, and the way that we laugh together it's just nonstop."
She also went on to explain the reason why her relationship is now great and healthy, noting that the partner needs to make her "feel safe," adding that the person has to be someone "you're attracted to" and "you laugh with constantly."
