The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards is deemed as music's most iconic night, because of the many shenanigans that the show has witnessed throughout the decades.
This year, a dedicated POV camera was spread all over the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, offering viewers a different angle on what takes place while the main telecast airs nationwide.
At one point in the evening, the POV camera captured a moment between Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake that had everyone online thinking.
Megan Thee Stallion, Justin Timberlake VMAs Argument: What Really Happened?
In an inaudible video circulating online, Megan Thee Stallion was prepped by her stylist backstage when Justin Timberlake passed by her with the other *NSYNC members.
When Justin Timberlake passed by her, he approached her, but Megan Thee Stallion looked rather displeased with the encounter. The video feed offered no sound so no one could really make out what Meg was saying to Justin before he trailed off.
The argument video made waves online, with people theorizing what the said argument was about which made Megan Thee Stallion look uncomfortable.
Some speculated that Timberlake might have disturbed Megan Thee Stallion who was preparing for her upcoming "Bongos" performance with Cardi B, while some thought that he might have said something offensive which resulted in Megan flashing her attitude. Well, as per insiders, the interaction was rather far from the speculations online.
According to Page Six sources, Megan Thee Stallion didn't want her official meeting with Justin Timberlake to be backstage.
"Meg loves Justin," an insider dished. "She was saying, 'No, no, no, we've never met before.' It was their first time meeting and she was excited." Another source said that "Megan didn't want this to be the first meeting with Justin Timberlake so [she] said, 'Not now.'"
A Variety source echoed that claim: "He said, 'It's so nice to meet you,' and she said 'No, no this don't count, this don't count. We gotta meet proper.'
As of this writing, neither Megan Thee Stallion nor Justin Timberlake has addressed what really transpired backstage at the VMAs. However, the two seemed to have met at the After Party as Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake appeared in a new TikTok video.
Justin Timberlake, NSYNC Reunion
The world was stunned when it was announced that NSYCN reunited onstage for the first time in years to present the Best Pop award last night.
JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Justin Timberlake had everyone screaming, including Taylor Swift whom they gave the award to for "Anti-Hero."
Swift was floored by the presence of the 90s boy band.
"I had your dolls," she told the group while accepting her Best Pop Award. "What's going to happen now? They're doing something and I need to know what it is. You're pop personified."
