Taylor Swift and Matty Healy being a couple in 2023 is perhaps not on someone's Bingo Card this year, but yeah - that happened. Very recently, rumors emerged that the two have reunited, and are working on a collaboration for "1989 (Taylor's Version)."

However, this ongoing rumor has finally been clarified by a trusted source close to the global pop star.

Is Matty Healy In Taylor Swift's 1989 (Taylor's Version) Album?

A spokesperson of Taylor Swift told Billboard that "neither Matty Healy nor [The] 1975 are on this album."

This clarification puts into place a The Sun report saying that Matty Healy and Taylor Swift recorded a song for "1989 (Taylor's Version)" before they split in June 2023.

"Taylor and Matty recorded the song when they were dating. They're not even in contact any more but there's no hard feelings and Taylor will still release the tune," the source revealed. "Taylor was a big fan of The 1975 way before she and Matty hooked up."

Notably, Taylor Swift and Matty Healy's relationship wasn't even confirmed to begin with. It started when the two left the Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village in May 2023. A video of the two attending an exclusive restaurant holding hands in New York was also released, exacerbating rumors about their alleged relationship.

Swifties have taken to Twitter to express their disapproval of their relationship, highlighting Matty Healy's problematic stances and behavior - a stark contrast to Swift's advocacies and convictions.

Healy and Swift are connected with Grammy-winning producer Jack Antonoff who both work closely with the two artists on their albums.

Very recently, Taylor Swift swept the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards by taking home nine out of her eleven nominations, including Artist of the Year, Best Pop, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Show of Summer, and Video of the Year.

Taylor Swift announced the arrival of "1989 (Taylor's Version)" at the last day of her first North American leg of "The Eras" Tour in Inglewood, California on Aug. 9, 2023.The record will be released on Oct. 27, 2023.

According to the pop star, she will be releasing five "From The Vault" tracks - unreleased songs from the original album.

Aside from Matty Healy, Nicki Minaj is the rumored artist said to be appearing on the album. Many theorize that she would be appearing on "Bad Blood" as a switch from Kendrick Lamar, while some fans hope that Minaj would appear on a new track from the vault instead.
