After Adele admitted to struggling with her Las Vegas residency shows, the 35-year-old singer has implemented a significant change.
The award-winning artist became concerned when those around her, including friends and crew, began feeling ill.
Adele has become renowned for mingling with her fans during her performances at Caesars Palace.
Despite this, due to her worries about contracting the coronavirus, the "Rolling In The Deep" singer has decided to refrain from such engagements.
Taking selfies and conversing with concertgoers had become a regular part of Adele's show, yet in light of the pandemic, it is now a practice that is no longer possible.
Once a shining light in music, Adele harbors a great fear of illness. No longer are her famous walk-throughs during "When We Were Young" taking place, where she was prone to embrace and hug anyone there.
Despite being set back by the pandemic with her Sin City residency this year, Adele has declared that she will not let COVID-19 impede her live shows.
She broke the news to her fans, saying, "Normally, I would stop and chat and hear all about your life and be the nosey person I am. However, I hanging on by a thread trying not to get COVID."
Unfortunately, the singer's collaborator Amanda tested positive for COVID-19 and had to skip some of their shows. "It's a miracle that I haven't had it yet," said the artist, adding that instead of posing for pics with fans, they'd have to take selfies or shoot vids from afar.
"I might have symptoms, and then I can't do my show, and I will be damned if I cancel any more of these shows. I refuse to cancel any shows."
She added, "I just can't risk getting ill. Honestly, my immune system is in the gutter, and I want to be close to you and stuff like that, but I can't risk it."
Adele A Germophobe
Adele revealed that her aversion to germs is well-known, so her concern may seem overblown to some, she said. But the "Someone Like You" singer is sure that many people are still carrying COVID. Therefore, when greeting someone new, her hand automatically reaches for a bottle of hand gel - almost as an instinctive reflex.
Though it's nothing new for her, Adele revealed feeling energized and eager to play for her fans that the flu left her in my last break. It came two days after her final show, and instead of being disheartened by it, oddly enough, it put a huge smile on her face, she confessed.
Although not ideal, catching a sickness during her break doesn't bother her terribly, she said.
