The 2023 VMAs honored musicians for their efforts during the previous year on September 12.
One of the two K-Pop groups present, Stray Kids created history by taking the stage and taking home the "Best K-Pop" trophy.
Enthusiasts were thrilled about these two items as well as the prospect of witnessing other celebrities-like Taylor Swift, who had an amazing performance-interacting with the group. Given that she is well-known for being a major K-Pop lover, many people assumed that American singer Sabrina Carpenter would also engage with the group.
Even though Sabrina Carpenter's contacts with TXT were captured on camera when she welcomed the group backstage, STAY first thought she had nothing to do with Stray Kids.
That is, up until a TikTok went viral and appeared to show Sabrina talking to Hyunjin as the group was performing. Sabrina and Hyunjin seem to make eye contact a few times as Stray Kids accept their prize for "Best K-Pop," and then the singer smiles sheepishly and waves at him.
In less than two days, a TikTok that captured this "moment" between the two received over two million views.
Fans laughed as they realized how relevant the "flirty" moment was.
But there seems to be another reason why this time could exist. It is well known that Sabrina Carpenter is acquainted with Dixie D'Amelio, a popular user on TikTok who presents the "Best K-Pop" award. Throughout Stray Kids' speech, Dixie D'Amelio remained on stage, and a full video captures Dixie in Sabrina's direct line of sight throughout the glances and wave. In addition, Dixie seems to wave to Sabrina during the speech.
Following the triumph of the 2023 MTV VMAs, Yeonjun of TOMORROW X TOGETHER conducted a live broadcast in which he shared the details of his encounter with Sabrina Carpenter. Curious fans had been requesting Yeonjun to describe their meeting with the singer and actress. At the awards ceremony, TOMMOROW X TOGETHER made their stage debut performing their most recent release, Back For More, with vocalist Anitta. As chosen by the audience, the group also won PUSH Performance of the Year.
The celebrity revealed that he exclaimed, "Hey! I know you!" She would reply, "I know you too!" He went on to say that she laughed when he informed her he had seen her in the Netflix series Tall Girl. Fans were thrilled by the adorable exchange between the two superstars and thought it hilarious that Yeonjun is acquainted with Sabrina Carpenter from Tall Girl. In addition, a lot of fans made jokes about how they thought the idol would be familiar with Tall Girl's Sabrina Carpenter.
Uncertainty surrounds Sabrina's relationship, but it's undeniable that she and Hyunjin would make a striking pair!
