Taylor Swift's "1989 (Taylor's Version)" will be released on Oct. 21, 2023, the exact same day that it was released nine years ago.
Like the previous re-recordings, Taylor Swift will be releasing previously hidden songs, which she calls "from the vault" tracks.
Now, Swift had her fans on edge as a puzzle emerged on Google suggesting what could be the five vault tracks that she worked on for "1989 (Taylor's Version)."
Among those is "Saggitarius," which many believe to be a collaboration with Nicki Minaj.
Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift Collaboration on '1989 (Taylor's Version)'
It has been heavily rumored that Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj would be collaborating on a track for "1989 (Taylor's Version)," and many thought that it would be on "Bad Blood."
On the original album, Swift recruited Kendrick Lamar for "Bad Blood," but now, fans speculate that Nicki Minaj will replace Kdot.
As of this writing, that hasn't been confirmed.
At the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, Nicki Minaj presented Swift with the Best Direction Award for "Anti-Hero." As Swift took the stage, she pointed at Nicki Minaj and declared that Minaj is her "favorite Saggitarius."
Notably, Swift and Minaj's zodiac sign are both Saggitarius. Swift was born on Dec. 13, 1989, while Minaj was born seven years and four days earlier on Dec. 8, 1982, which makes them both Saggitarius.
Fans took mental note of the star sign, and alas, it appeared as one of the words to Taylor Swift's Google From The Vault puzzles.
In the past, Nicki Minaj also referenced their star signs in a quote tweet about an incredible chart accomplishment that she and Taylor Swift had achieved - the only female artists to have over 100 entries on the Hot 100.
Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift Collaboration NOT On '1989 (Taylor's Version)'?
But, the rumors started to become murky when Deuxmoi, a known entertainment insider, posted a submission on their Twitter/X account, confirming Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift's collaboration to be "100% happening."
However, the source was not sure if it was for "1989 (Taylor's Version)." If Minaj would not appear in "1989 (Taylor's Version)," she would most definitely be in "Reputation (Taylor's Version)."
Or by a long reach, Swift would appear on "Pink Friday 2," which for some reason was bumped to a November 2023 release, after initially announced to be released on October 2023 release, weeks after Swift's intended "1989" release.
