Reports of a relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been circulating.
This was seemingly validated by Travis' brother when he spoke to WIP Sports Radio, declaring the romance to be "100 percent true". However, one PR specialist does not believe this is the case.
The Mirror spoke with Co-Founder of Goldman McCormick Public Relations, Ryan McCormick, who remarked that Jason Kelce's decision to confirm the rumors of his brother dating Taylor Swift during a radio interview was a superb PR move.
As mentioned by Ryan, Travis' Twitter profile has comparatively fewer followers than Taylor's massive 94 million followers.
Travis Kelce is no stranger to the spotlight. As evidenced by Social Blade, his following has grown by a staggering 58.8% in the past month alone.
In 2016, he offered fans an intimate look into his personal life with "Catching Kelce," a reality TV show that proved incredibly popular.
Exploring the implications of a rumored fling between Taylor and Travis, it was evident that Travis had much to gain from the situation.
As articulated by the PR expert, "I don't think Taylor and Travis are in a relationship currently... But should their reported romance be true, he will likely snag some of Swift's most devoted followers."
Ryan claims that celebrity relationships often appear to be staged, as rarely any photos or public appearances are together.
To ascertain the truthfulness of such pairings, he recommends paying attention to body language; unless they're hugging, kissing, or giving genuine attention - and not just being on their phones - it is safe to assume it's not real love.
Because Taylor Swift's love life is always at the center of attention, being seen with her could raise one's profile significantly.
Ryan commented on this phenomenon: "Travis will definitely reap the benefits of this high-profile date. Increased visibility will open new opportunities for him - including more media interviews focusing on his connection to such a popular celebrity."
In a much-anticipated move, Taylor finally broke her silence and unveiled the details of "1989 (Taylor's Version)."
Rumors abounded about what it would include - and they were close enough. Among the additional tracks was one called "Slut!" which many fans assume aims the disparaging opinions of her that surfaced during the early 2010s.
