Days after hearing some good news regarding BTS members renewing their contract with BIGHIT Music, fans had to say their farewells to Suga, who began his military enlistment today.

The KPOP star bid his fans farewell online: "I was able to come this far thanks to you. And the time has come. I will faithfully complete my duty and come back.

"Be careful of the chilly autumn weather. Stay healthy and see you all in 2025."

Suga is the third member of BTS to embark on the mandatory enlistment process, following Jin late last year, and J-Hope a few months ago.

"Good luck with your enlistment. I must be working when you say goodbye, it was good to join your Suga fan club. It's a little sad to think that you'll still be far away but I've always liked the way you are, I don't need to say I love you, because I've already proven that to you," a fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"September 22nd 2023 is Suga military enlistment day. We will wait for you, Suga."

On the other hand, there are some fans who are more distraught and devastated. They are now worrying about the other members enlisting as well.

BTS Fans Worry Over KPOP Idols

Some fans expressed their sadness and worries online as well. A fan wrote about the troubles of being a multi-fan (being a fan of multiple artists and groups).

"I am still traumatized. This along with Suga enlistment and BLACKPINK contract issue is just shortening my lifespan," one wrote.

"Today is the day, Suga's enlistment day. What will happen to me when it's Jimin's turn?"

The remaining BTS members who are yet to enlist are the following: group leader RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

Why KPOP Idols Enlist

KPOP boy group fans will all experience, at some point in their life being a fangirl, bidding their favorite idols farewell due to the mandatory military enlistment in South Korea.

According to reports, because the country is still at war with North Korea, the South Korean government requires all able-bodied males to serve for 18 months.

They should also complete their enlistment by the time they turn 28, which is why some BTS members are already enlisted while some remain.

While the remaining members await their turn, they are pursuing solo careers. Jimin released his debut album "Face," while V dropped his debut album "Layover" earlier this month.

Fans are eagerly waiting for Jungkook to drop his debut album, which is expected in November.
