What does BLACKPINK's Jennie future look like now the "Born Pink" tour is done?

For the October 2023 edition of Harper's Bazaar Korea, the BLACKPINK singer opened up about her upcoming solo music.

Jennie revealed that she is finishing new material and hinted that it will be extraordinary.

In an interview with the outlet, Jennie shared her plans for a new song.

It will be entirely her own, unlike anything else out there. This will mark the first time she has released something independently from her girl group since debuting 2018 with "Solo."

According to Korea JoongAng Daily, "I'm making a song that's by Jennie, the most Jennie and something unique that is only Jennie's."

Though no official release has been made of it yet, fans have been lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Jennie's solo work during BLACKPINK's "Born Pink" world tour from last year with her performance of the song "You & Me (Moonlight)."

Earlier this year, Jennie also teamed up with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp to produce the song "One Of The Girls" for HBO series "The Idol."

Recently, rumors about BLACKPINK and their contract negotiations with YG Entertainment have been circulating. According to reports, Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa are supposedly deciding not to extend their contracts. This news has stirred up a buzz around BLAKCPINK's future as a group.

Rumors have been circulating that Rosé is the only BLACKPINK member to stay with their company. However, ongoing conversations remain about the group carrying on their activities as one unit.

In regards to the contract renewal of the group, YG Entertainment has reported that the process is still ongoing, and nothing has been finalized yet. Discussion is currently underway to reach a decision.

It was also recently announced that The Idol, which had been aired on HBO, would not return for a second season.

A spokesperson from the television network said in a statement: "We have decided, after much thought and consideration, that we will not move forward with plans of producing another season. We are forever indebted to the hard-working cast and crew involved in bringing this show to life."

This comes after reports that Jennie's bandmate Lisa is reportedly set to sign with an American agency after their contract with YG Entertainment expires.

Rumors have been swirling that BLACKPINK's Lisa may be entertaining the idea of signing with a record label from America instead of renewing her contract with YG Entertainment.

This news comes from Taiwanese media outlet SETN (via Pinkvilla) and has recently been reported on by TV Report in an exclusive report.

It has been revealed that Lisa has received a compelling proposal from a prominent American record label, promising more than ₩50.0 billion (roughly $37.7 million).

This agreement gives her multiple benefits, such as assistance with her music career, video productions, fashion endeavors, live shows, and six album releases.
