Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones has been a rockstar the majority of his life and he recently admitted something about his real thoughts on pop and hip-hop music and it seems like both genres aren't his cup of tea.
The English musician, who is set to release the new album "Hackney Diamonds" with his bandmates, spoke with The Telegraph to give an update about his life and career.
Recalling all the bad stuff that he did for the past few decades, he revealed that he only had the courage to give up cigarettes in 2019.
Unfortunately, he also took worst substances in the past but he clarified that he stopped doing heroin in 1978 and gave up cocaine in 2006. However, the only thing that is not healthy for him that he continues taking is alcohol, but he clarified that he only do it occasionally.
"I still like a drink occasionally - because I'm not going to heaven any time soon - but apart from that, I'm trying to enjoy being straight. It's a unique experience for me," he said. (via Audacy)
Keith Richards' Thoughts on Pop and Rock Music
Elsewhere in the interview, he later revealed that he was not cut out to be a pop star in his career and he had to deal with it all of his life.
It's undoubtedly known by most of his fans that Richards is a major fan of blues and jazz music, but they weren't aware that the singer had so much hate against rap and pop music.
Although he clarified that he didn't want to start complaining about pop music in the interview, he labeled it as "rubbish."

"It's always been rubbish. I mean, that's the point of it. They make it as cheap and as easy as possible and therefore it always sounds the same; there's very little feel in it," he unapologetically said.
The main reason why he hated the genre is because he wanted to hear people play real instruments, not those "plastic synthesized muzak" that the public only hears in elevators.
Regarding rap/hip-hop music, he dislikes the genre because it appears that it was too loud for him as he doesn't like it when people yell at him.
