Bruce Springsteen needs more time to recuperate from peptic ulcer disease.
Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band missed several shows over the past few months as the singer suffered a "health issue" that was soon confirmed as a digestive issue. It became one of the health struggles he has faced after his several bouts with COVID-19.
Bruce Springsteen Cancels 2023 Shows
To prevent hassles and disappointments from fans, Springsteen and his band decided to allow the singer to focus on his recovery instead. With that, they postponed the remainder of the 2023 tour and pledged to return stronger in 2024.
"Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor's advice," the official statement read. "With this in mind, and out of an abundance of caution, all remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be postponed until 2024."
It also cited a short message from Springsteen, in which he thanked their friends and fans for their unwavering support and love amid his personal health battle. He assured everyone he is on the mend and will continue to recuperate until he sees them again next year.
The new tour dates of Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be announced in October, and fans can opt to attend the next shows or file a refund at the point of sale.

The update regarding Springsteen's recovery came after several fake news websites claimed that the singer died, while others reported that he was dying.
A source soon dismissed the claims in a statement to Daily Mail and revealed that Springsteen remains positive while facing the condition with his fans' love and support.
"It is who he is, so this bump in the road frustrates the h--- out of him, but his stubborn nature was nurtured by his bandmates and wife, who convinced him to get healthy now so something worse doesn't happen down the line," the insider continued.
Before his peptic ulcer diagnosis, Springsteen also suffered from COVID-19 virus several times and underwent throat surgery in 2013. The health bouts led him to cancel more shows than expected, but his fans believed that things would have been worse if he continued performing.
