Nicole Scherzinger, the frontwoman of The Pussycat Dolls, has taken a solo career of her own in the past decades.

She has established herself as a great vocalist, a knowledgeable mentor, and a great actress. Despite this, she believes that she still has a lot to prove.

Nicole Scherzinger Leaves 'The Masked Singer'

It was a huge choice for Nicole Scherzinger - "The Masked Singer" or "Sunset Boulevard."

Ultimately, she chose the latter. Scherzinger has been a mainstay judge on Fox's hit musical game show "The Masked Singer" along with Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg.

While she is still in the show's current season, she will be replaced by Rita Ora on the show's upcoming 11th season next year.

Speaking to People Magazine, Scherzinger had a hard time choosing between the two.

"I had to actually choose between The Masked Singer season 11 and Sunset Boulevard. I chose Sunset Boulevard. This is where my talents truly lie. I'm still proving myself," she declared.

Although she was mainly known as the frontwoman of The Pussycat Dolls, Scherzinger is more than her pop background, she also has roots in theatre.

In fact, at the tender age of 14, Scherzinger has already been acting. She joined Actors Theatre of Louisville, where she was cast in her first professional play, La Bête.

Fast forward to 2023, Scherzinger is still grinding.

"It's hard when people don't see you for who you truly are. But if you don't show it to them, they will never know; so that's why I've taken this," the 45-year-old actress confessed to People Magazine. "Hopefully people will get the opportunity now to see who I really am and what I have to give."

Initially, Scherzinger was skeptical about taking on such a huge role. She has big shoes to fill as Norma Desmond, Patti LuPone, and Glenn Close took on the role in various adaptations.

"He was like, 'Don't watch the movie, don't listen to anybody else, just read the lines and listen to the music.' And when I did, I just fell in love with Norma. I didn't realize that this is the role that I've been waiting to play all my life. We're doing a completely different, new interpretation," she revealed, referring to her conversation with Lloyd-Webber.
