Renee Rapp launched her music career in 2022, but her love for music and a particular popstar has been lingering in her heart for as long as she can remember.
"I love Kesha so much. She was my everything growing up," the actress slash singer gushed about the "Tik Tok" singer during her interview with Spotify.
"She's just so... not 'wild' in the sense that she's wild... she was so wild and free-spirited and hot, and seemed sure of herself, but was also really vulnerable and outspoken. And also was just the sickest. She was a version of a woman in pop music that I love."
When Kesha saw that the "Colorado" singer was gushing and fangirling about her, she responded and sent love her way through a heart hand emoji.
Renee Rapp Opens Up About Making 'Snow Angel'
It was Kesha's fearlessness and vulnerability that drew her to the singer, but it also inspired her to be the same.
It is most prevalent in her recently released album, "Snow Angel." Apparently, her struggle with mental health was a pivotal factor in her making the album, and influencing the music as well.
"[...] But I go through a lot in my head in a 24-hour period, even when I'm asleep," Rapp explained. "I have really, really intense dreams pretty much every night that I can recount everything that happened in the morning - and usually they're anxiety-ridden dreams, so they're not very comforting.
She went on to reveal that one of her songs was actually inspired by something she dreamt about; "It only comes from my most intense feelings, the ones that really hit the forefront."
Renee Rapp Moves to Music
While Rapp has always shown love for music and the arts, she ended up in Broadway and the film and television industry before she proceeded to the music scene.
According to reports, Rapp managed to mix her talents in acting and music when she landed the role of Regina George on the Broadway musical version of "Mean Girls."
And while the entire world hated being stuck at home during lockdown back in 2020's Covid-19 pandemic, Rapp saw it as an opportunity to focus on her music career.
Now that she has officially launched her career, she plans to make it her priority.
