Travis Kelce's former girlfriend has spoken out after suggesting Taylor Swift should be wary of him.

Maya Benberry's warning came after news of their possible relationship sparked a wave of speculation online. Reports claimed that she received death threats as a result.

In 2016, Maya had a relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

Unfortunately, it did not last, and after their break-up, she accused him of infidelity during their time together.

When the news of the "Lavender Haze" singer's relationship with Maya was made public, fans - often referred to as Swifties - were quick to show their support. However, Maya had a much different opinion of her former partner.

Interviewed by Inside Edition, Maya talked about the endless online harassment she endured from Taylor Swift's fans because she decided to speak out.

The reactions to her statement ranged - from snide remarks discrediting her claims as a ploy for attention to more severe threats.

Benberry has voiced her opinion that she bears no ill will towards the Grammy award-winning singer; however, despite this fact, she has still encountered threats from the pop star's "angry fans."

"The behavior of those who follow Swift is astonishing," Maya remarked. "It's unbelievable that someone I see as kind and uplifting has such a vehement and antagonistic fan group."

In her comment section, Maya had to face an onslaught of hurtful remarks such as "cheap," "jealous," and a "side chick."

One user even took the opportunity to express their preference for Taylor over Benberry by posting under an image of her wearing an all-black outfit: "I'd rather look at Taylor Swift."

Maya was vocal about not wanting to be seen as a resentful or envious person towards Swift. "There's no comparison between us," she asserted, clarifying that her only issue lay with Kelce and his attempts to paint her unfavorable.

"He's trying to make me out to be something I'm not," she said.

Five years ago, when Maya Benberry made her allegations, there was a different response than her recent comments. Incredibly, the 31-year-old said she felt "offended" by how people reacted to what she had to say.

She felt slighted when she recalled the events of five years prior.

"When back then, when for eight months we were together, and it was made known that there had been cheating allegations, not a word was uttered by his camp, his team, or him," she said. "Five years later, you're all laughing; it's like you are mocking me."

Maya expressed her doubts concerning the sincerity of Taylor's new partner since he was "speaking to the press frequently." She questioned how authentic his emotions for Swift indeed were.
