Ludacris recently reflected on his 14-year run in the rap game. The famed Atlanta rapper has also spawned an 11-year acting career, which all started with 2003′s 2 Fast 2 Furious.
Since his debut into the series, Ludacris worked closely alongside late actor Paul Walker for nearly a decade. During a recent interview with XXL, Luda opened up about filming without Walker and continuing his legacy.
"It was definitely difficult, but at a certain time, we all came together and understood," he said. "We was 75 percent done before his untimely death. Us coming back together was definitely hard but there was also an understanding that we were going to finish this movie because that's what he would have wanted us to do. Continue his legacy and leave an extremely huge mark with this film."
Luda told the magazine that filming has officially wrapped. Co-star Vin Diesel recently shared the hardships he faced while filming without Paul during an interview with BuzzFeed.
"I grew up in the bouncer world, and we lost people while we were bouncing. But the brotherhood in Paul Walker was something completely different," Diesel said. "I've been acting all my life and they don't teach you in acting, how to mourn someone and simultaneously pretend they're in a scene with you."
Fast & Furious 7 returns to big screen with its original casts Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Lucas Black. Walker's role is performed by brothers Cody and Caleb, according to BreatheCast.
The film will hit theaters next spring. Ludacris assures fans won't be disappointed.
"I think people's breath is going to be taken away when they watch this one," he said. "April 3rd, 2015, it will be out."
