SZA is one of the biggest artists in the world right now. Thanks to the success of her sophomore album, "SOS," she is enjoying the love of her fans right now not just in the United States but also around the world.

SZA's banger of an album makes her a huge contender for the upcoming 2024 Grammy Awards, which will take place in February next year.

While the Grammys are still held to a high standard by many people in the industry, a majority of artists seemed to have differing thoughts on the academy and their authenticity.

SZA Opens Up About The Grammy Awards

On Rolling Stone's most recent cover story, SZA shared her most candid thoughts about the Grammy Awards.

In 2018, SZA was nominated for 5 awards at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. These nominations included Best New Artist, Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, Best Urban Contemporary Album, and Best Rap/Song Performance.

While she was pressed to win at least one of the awards, she left the Grammy Awards empty-handed.

Back then, she was slated to perform a rendition of "Broken Clocks" at the near end of the show.

"That night, right before I lost the last two, Tyler [the Creator] was like, 'Nah, it would be so fu****ng weird if you lost everything and they asked you to perform. That'd be so terrible, don't even worry.' Child, when I lost that last one ..." she recalled - looking back at Tyler, the Creator, before walking out of the room.

For SZA, this experience that singers have to go through is "not normal" - a testament to how cutthroat it is to be in the music industry.

"I hate that niggas be acting like this shit is normal and nobody talks about it at all. The Grammy room is one of the weirdest rooms ever," SZA described. "There is so much wanting in there. Wanting to be noticed, wanting to be, like, acknowledged, to win, wanting to just be amongst niggas in the room, wanting to feel valuable or validated."

Although she says those, SZA believed that it is "kind of important" that she was there and it "kind of matters." But this did not stop SZA from describing the Grammys to be like a "thirsty, dark space."
