Aside from starring on the show, Demi Lovato herself will also be credited as one of the executive producers aside from OBB Pictures.
Michael D. Ratner, the founder and CEO of the media company, said the production house is honored to collaborate with the singer in the past and they are looking forward to working with her again for the holiday special.
"In typical Demi fashion, 'A Very Demi Holiday Special' delivers. We're excited to be working with the Roku team on a project that brings some much-needed joy for the 2023 holidays!" he said.
As of this writing, the holiday special has yet to share more information, but it is expected for the singer to sing some of her hit rock songs as she already switched genres and confirmed that she's burying her pop star past behind.
Demi Lovato Updates
The future is clear for Demi Lovato because aside from a holiday special, she would also make her directorial debut with the documentary titled "Child Stars."
The movie will be available for streaming via Hulu in 2024, but a release date has yet to be announced.
Per the outlet, the film will revolve around the "highs and lows" of growing up in show business at an early age. It would also feature some of the world's most famous child actors who had been working ever since they were kids.
"There is no better film or topic for my directorial debut than this story, which is close to home," Lovato said in a statement.
It's worth noting that the singer herself used to be a child actor as she was one of the cast members of "Barney" as well as a handful of shows and movies under Disney Channel.
